Jiaen Wu was born in Ningbo, China in July 1994. She received her bachelor with the Outstanding Graduates honor in Process Equipment and Control Engineering from Zhejiang University, China in 2017. In 2016, she was granted the Holland ALSP full scholarship. Then she joined the 3+2 Excellent Student Program between Zhejiang University and Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), and started her master’s studies at TU/e in the Netherlands. During her master’s studies, she did an internship at ABB Engineering Shanghai, where she worked on distributed control systems and gained practical experience on industrial robotics. Afterwards, she conducted her master thesis on modeling and model predictive control of fluidized bed membrane reactors in Control Systems group at TU/e. After obtaining her master’s degree, she joined Magnes AG as a PhD student in July 2018. She works on the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network project, mCBEEs, funded by the European Commission.
