Konrad Eiler
PhD Student

Having obtained my B.Sc. in materials science at TU Darmstadt, and my M.Sc. at TU Berlin in 2014, I learned the basics of materials science and later specialised in the field of coatings and surface analysis, especially during my theses. My master’s thesis took place at VW’s R&D department working on ceramic thermal barrier coatings. As a fellow at CERN in Geneva in the group of mechanical and materials engineering, I was working on materials for superconducting cavities for HL-LHC, using a variety of specialised materials analyses involving cryogenics.
In general, I have a strong affinity for experimental work within my field. Now, I am working on the electrodeposition of porous metallic coatings at UAB in Barcelona, doing my best to contribute to the mCBEEs project.
