Maria Lekka

Dr. Maria Lekka is currently a researcher in the Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture of University of Udine. She received her master degree (2003) in Chemical Engineering for the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece and a PhD (2008) in Materials Engineering from University of Trento in Italy. She works at University of Udine since 2010 dealing mainly with corrosion and corrosion protection of metal surfaces.  Her scientific interests include study of the corrosion mechanisms, production and characterization of metallic and metal matrix composite coatings produced by electrodeposition with enhanced wear and corrosion protection properties, anodization of light metals, conversion coatings, corrosion inhibitors etc.

She is the Coordinator of the mCBEEs consortium.
