From the 15th to the 20th of July the 1st mCBEEs training school was held at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. This was the first meeting of the ESRs, and 12 out of the 15 were able to attend, as well as a PhD student of one of our partner institutions, Cidetec.
The topic of the week was introduction to corrosion. With lecturers from all over Europe, topics ranging from the basics to thermodynamics to kinetics of corrosion, in environments from the atmospheric to the localized were covered. Furthermore, we looked into both modelling and experimental techniques. The evenings were free for the students to get to know each other as well as explore Delft and the surrounding cities. Thursday evening both students and organizers shared a nice dinner in Delft, before the final day of lectures on Friday as well as all the ESRs presenting their workplace and project.
It was a great first meeting and we are all looking forward to the next meeting in Jönköping in November!
