The last week of June, all the mCBEEs ESRs were again gathered in the sunny city of Ljubljana. The topic of the week was “Fundamentals of corrosion protection and coating production”. Lectures about different types of coatings were given by experts within each technique. Furthermore, practical experience of coating characterization was gained through lab activities. The groups tested different coatings and will now discuss how to best characterize coatings for corrosion protection for the home assignment. As this was a full week training school, there was also an afternoon set aside for training soft skills and the focus this time was elevator pitches and presentation techniques. Lastly, all ESRs presented their ongoing work and preliminary results, and those who have been on secondments shared their experiences.
